Not out of the woods yet, this was the big crash i've been dreading for a few years now.

Horrible webhost as me handcuffed by my desire to not lose the forums database. Doing everything I can to work with their limitations to get things moved somewhere else.

not sure who you use but i have used hostgator for a couple years with no problems. They would even help you transfer everything over too.

Heres a shameless affiliate link if you want to use it to sign up and i can earn some money to buy some blood Bowl stuff, lol. Either way they are who i use and recommend.

I've used imhosted.com for years for bbfigs.com, impactminiatures.net, galaksgardens.com and midgardbb.com and have been incredibly happy with them.

No experience with either of those two.

I and a few others have used npsis.com with without any problems.

Currently, I'm hosting on networksolutions.net which has a lot of flexibility to it. To be honest though, I'm not sure about the performance of the mysql package there yet. Not sure if it's slow to respond or that I'm just used to the huge enterprise database solutions from work.

Your main concern will be making sure you have a quick and robust database solution for the boards.

Don't think of it as having to move but as a free service upgrade!

Data Moving, there are add in modules for phpBB that you can install (If allowed) that help facilitate the moving of a board. I've used a couple int he past and they worked out pretty well.

I'm always available for questions.

I run 6 websites all thru godaddy. most "computer guys" don't like it, but it's extremely easy to use and I've had good support thru them. if you use em, use the affiliate link thru zlurpcast.com. you can also find cheap coupon codes online to get 15-20% off.

also, danica patrick.

dont be tied down to the data base the longer you wait the more data will come . so its better to accept your losses and do it ASAP .

I would never use nor recommend Godaddy for ANYTHING! Too many horror stories.

Ive only used smf forums for my websites but a couple of them have several thousand members and are very active each day. No database problems or anything with them ( using hostgator ).

I dont have any experience with any other hosting service but I have heard good things from others about Bluehost.

If price is an issue, I know hostgator gives you 20% off your first order so can save some coin if your pre paying a decent amount upfront ( year or more )

Moving process has started, don't be surprised if there is downtime over the next few weeks as I get everything setup. I apologize to any TOs that are using the forums here to advertise their tournaments I will do everything I can to get things back up as quickly as possible.
