I would love to get involved in a mini event
Say team builder 2-3 games 3 minute timers (oh oh even better Zlurpee Friday night League, play a couple-3 games each year build that same team up)
Street or 7's (not played out west) what, 3-4 games?
Have to play with start times
if it is 4 hours I would not like to start past 9pm but not earlier than 6pm-7pm ish to give some of us travelers leeway.

Actually of off the ideas presented this would kind of be the coolest.

Hmmmm.
First thought why limit it to friday, why not any games played friday-sunday, outside of the tournament.

The ongoing idea sounds really cool for those who repeatedly attend. Would require a few rules to be setup first of course (when can you restart/play a new team etc) But still sounds awesome.

I don't. League record keeping in a tourney environment sucks. It adds time, people are open to mistakes, and it's just more work and I'm lazy.

Doesnt have to be an official league. Just an open play stlye league that you only use that team when you are attending Zlurpee Bowl. AGBBL Site, I am sure Bampf could host with a website like the link.

What about an ongoing Zlurpee league that culminates in a championship the Friday before the Zlurpee Bowl? Independent of the Tourney?

We have a GREAT tracker system
www.fabbl.net/tracker
I can set up the players and league in a few clicks. the players input the team and EVERYTHING is tracked ect. The players input the results of their game. set up their own games so on and so forth. No extra stuff/steps/whatever needed. You can add pics, give a story of the game a ton of stuff

great with the tracker you would have to do little or no work. (you would have to update your team)
We can even select a league Commish (not Johnny or Bryan)

 Friday Night- Team battles?
At the World Cup, the first day of games (1-3) was for individual standings to rank each player within his/her national team. Games 4-9 were then played chess match style as teams faced off with board 1 being the highest ranked on the team playing the opponent's best, and so on down the line.
Perhaps "Friday Zlurp" could be the reverse (teams vs. teams) or maybe the set up to something similar tot he WC-style formating.
